Burr Winslow papers, 1917-1977.

The Burr Winslow papers contain information about his time as a U.S. air mail pilot and his activities as a member of the Air Mail Pioneers Association. There are about 250 photographs of Burr Winslow; air mail pilots and crews; post office airports and airplanes; and Burr Winslow and other members of The Air Mail Pioneers Association at their conventions (1917-1966). There is also correspondence (1960-1977); typescript accounts by former air mail pilots of flying in the 1920s (1960s-1970s); certificates from the U.S. Post Office for distinguished service as an air mail pilot from 1918 to 1927 and for Silver Wings Flights (1960-1968); Reno, Nevada U.S. Post Office Air Mail Survey Station Record of Events and Landings (1920); pilots pay and expense vouchers (1930-1937); U. S. Army Pilots Training Log Books (1918); air mail pilots log book (1927-1931); his transport pilots license (1930; and his Aero Club of America license brevetted for an aviator pilot (1918). There are also newspaper clippings about air mail pilots in the 1920s and the Air Mail Pioneers Association activities (1935-1977); strip maps used for air navigation (1920s); and U. S. Post Office Aeronautical Bulletins (1924-1925).

Burr Winslow (1892-1978) was an air mail pilot. Winslow served in the U.S Army Air Service from 1917 to 1919. He was an air mail pilot from 1920 to 1931.
